21-year-old Evan Emory is a guitarist/comedian who’s attempt at creating a viral YouTube video has landed him in a boatload of trouble.
How much trouble? The worst kind—he’s charged with felony of making child abuse material, a charge which could land him 20 years in prison. All because of a comedy bit gone horribly wrong.
Emory was invited to sing to a group of first graders at Beechnau Elementary School in Muskegon, Michigan, which he did, much to the kid’s delight. Emory then went to a separate, but empty classroom, in which he sang again, only this time his lyrics were a lot less kid friendly, and a lot more sexually explicit.
The young singer then went and spliced the two video clips together to make it look as if he was singing his raunchy ditty to a group of first-graders before posting it on YouTube. I’m not sure if hilarity ensued or not, because the offending video was quickly taken down, and Emory was arrested and charged by Muskegon police for making what was labeled child sexually abusive material.
Pretty sure Evan Emory’s not laughing now.
Emory is due back in court on February 20th, and has been ordered not to have any contact with minors outside of his restaurant job. It’s doubtful that the 21-year-old will be given the full 20-year sentence that goes along with his crime, but there is a decent chance he may see some time behind bars, which will give him plenty of time to work on his next wacky YouTube prank…or not.
