Brazlian Man’s Dentures Save his Life

Dentures do more than give you a bright smile. In some cases they can save your life.

That’s exactly what happened to 81-year old Zacarias Pacheco de Moraes of Brazil. The man was working in his bar in the small city of Alta Floresta when he was shot in the face.

Instead of landing in his brain, which was where the shot was going, Moraes’ dentures deflected the bullet causing it to land in his throat.

Hospital official Jose Marcos da Silva says Moraes’ is lucky to be alive and in stable condition. The bullet won’t be removed right away because it’s too risky and there is the possibility Moraes’ will lose some of his eyesight due to the bullet’s trajectory. [Source]
