28 Year old Steffen Korbach, a German iBanker, didn’t even need to hit another car, or a bunch of other cars, or something expensive, like a Black Hawk helicopter, Cher or a museum. All he had to do was crash his 2.2M$ Pagani Zonda F-Clubsport. He told reporters that he was only accelerating from 60km/h after a speed zone, when he hit a deep water puddle and skidded sideways. The car struck the side of the barrier and wrecked. A 21 year old lady passenger was also in the car at the time, and also escaped uninjured despite the severity of the accident and the lack of airbags in the exotic supercar. The Zonda can go from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 345km/h.
Just to put things in perspective, Korbach could have crashed over 600 Nissan Cubes for about the same price tag, or worked at most jobs for 485 years. Personally I’d rather see him wreck the 600 Nissan Cubes, that once wrecked, would actually look better than when they were new.
Korbach was ironically on his way to Milan, to pick up a new Zonda Huayra but that will have to wait because apparently, when he crashed, he was going faster than the speed limit for Italian freeways, which is 130km/h, and although Italian policemen usually give the thumbs up, and wave to speeding exotic cars, when the drivers of the supercars crash, it’s a whole different story, so he lost his licence for three months. He will also have to pay for the repairs to the barrier.
