Store clerk makes failed robber clean up own blood

The robust-looking gentleman that you see in the picture to the left is one Derek Mothershead – and in case you were wondering, you really, really don’t want to rob his store. Twenty-five-year-old Mostafa Hendi learned that lesson the hard way when he allegedly walked into a We Buy Gold store and demanded money.

Hendi’s self-enrichment scheme is said to have unraveled when he tucked his gun into his waistband to receive the money. Mothershead saw the opportunity and Mostafa caught a strong left cross with his face. In his own words:

When he reached out, I took a step in, I cocked back and preloaded and I hit him hard.

Hard indeed, the punch was enough to render the would be robber unconscious. Mothershead then pinned him, removed what turned out to be a pellet gun from the other man’s waistband and called 911. When Hendi came to, he begged to be released. Unmoved, Mothershead told him:

You came in and tried to rob us. You’re going to jail.

Then he added insult to injury: Mothershead found some paper towels and cleaning product and forced Mostafa Hendi to clean up his own blood, which it seems he was able to do before the police and paramedics arrived.
