Trololoman Eduard Khil dies at 77

Eduard Khil, who became famous worldwide thanks to his Trololo song, has sadly passed away at the age of 77. Mr. Khil had a stroke in late May and had been in hospital since then.

Khil had been performing up to very recently, and was also known in America as a stone sculptor as well as an avid fan of cartoons and all kinds of comedy.

He had been retired since the late 1990 but Eduard Khil, due to his online popularity, resumed concert activity at the age of 75. Between 2010 and 2012 he wrote a song for a cartoon and was decorated with a “Steppenwolf” music award. During his life, the singer was also awarded several Soviet and Russian orders, including the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Order of Peoples’ Friendship and Order of Merit for the Motherland.

Rest in peace, Mr.Trololoman. Our thoughts are of course with his family and loved ones.
